Ezz Eldin Scholarship Annoucement

    The best 8 accepted students who complete the accompanying Ezz Eldin Scholarship Application form pass the interview and agree to the conditions of the Scholarship will receive a $1600 grant toward the program price. But they have to work 5 hours 4 days a week in one job of the following at American Academy premises: 

    (Instructor of English – students' customer service representative or program coordinator –office assistant) 

    All other accepted students who complete the accompanying Ezz Eldin Scholarship Application form pass the interview and agree to the conditions of the Scholarship will receive a $800 grant toward the program price. This half scholarship could offer up to other 8 students. 

    Curriculum for beginner or intermediate Arabic Students: 

    The program is also designed to create an awareness of, and facility in, Egypian Colloquial Dialect, as well as an understanding for Egypt, its culture, history, people, natural beauty and traditions Pedagogy will be project-, group-, and presentation-oriented.  

    Credit

    This is a non-credit course. However, some universities may have awarded credit to participants upon successful completion of the program. Supporting documentation available after the program upon request.  

    Student Recruitment and Selection: 

    The program is limited to 16 students. Undergraduates or graduate students who have completed at least have completed at least one subject of formal Arabic training at colleges and universities are eligible to apply. Successful candidates will have a strong interest in current events and have demonstrated by their essay that they are serious students of the language. 

    Election Process 

    Award recipients will be selected on the basis of merit with consideration for: 

    Academic record and potential to succeed in a rigorous academic setting;  

    The ability of teaching English as a second language.  

    The ability of working on one of these jobs  

    (Instructor of English – students' customer service representative or program coordinator –office assistant)  

    • Ability to adapt to a different cultural environment; 
    • Ability to respect other race, religion , color , habits and traditions. 
    • The ability to follow all the hosting country instructions and legal issues. 
    • Diversity; 
    • Plan for continuation of study of the language 
    • Plan to use the language in future career. 

    To Apply 

    The following materials including the Application Form (below) are required for consideration: 
    • A one-page Statement of Purpose (in English) outlining your goals for the program and what role Arabic plays in your Future plans 
    • A two-paragraph about what do you know about Egypt. 
    • One unofficial copy of your transcript (of the college or university you are now attending or most recently attended)
