North Central College position in Arabic and Middle Eastern/North African studies

The Department of Modern and Classical Languages seeks applications for a half-time faculty position in Arabic and Middle Eastern/North African studies for the 2015-2016 academic year (September 1, 2015- June 15, 2016). This position may be renewable. The responsibilities for the successful candidate include teaching undergraduate courses in elementary Arabic and an introduction to MENA studies and responsibilities for program- building projects designed to grow our new minor in Middle Eastern and North African studies. There may also be an opportunity to teach a general education humanities course. Qualified candidates should hold an advanced degree in Arabic or a related area. A Ph.D. is preferred, but A.B.D. candidates or those with a Master’s degree and substantial college-level teaching experience are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will have a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.
